Guidelines

To ensure a safe environment for all competitors at the 2024 Track and Field meet the following guidelines will be in effect. Considering the track and field event is a SALT function, the standards of behavior for SALT, as outlined on the SALT website, will apply.  The standards are as follows:

We need to respect all people within our group. LOVE is the GREATEST commandment of the LORD and should be our goal.  Since we are a Christian group this also obligates us to act responsibly as a testimony to our Lord.

STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR FOR SALT:

a) Bullying, which is hurtful physical actions or words, will not be tolerated.

b) Areas within a facility that are restricted to parents or children must be observed. We are the guests at different places and must act accordingly. Other people’s property must be respected.

c) It is the consensus of SALT that all adults are referred to as Mr., Mrs., or Miss by the children.

e) Children must stay with their group or parent and respect their leaders.

f) Children will be encouraged to focus their attention on the instructor.

g) We will try to be diligent as parents to train our children and correct, when necessary, attitudes that are hurtful to others. These would include ostracizing or leaving others out of the fun.

In addition to the standards listed on the SALT website the following requirements must also be met to ensure a safe environment for all:

  1. All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and be approved by the track and field coordinator.

  2. Children participating in the events need to be at the venue by 8:30 am to sign in and receive the schedule for the day’s events.

  3. This is open to all home schooled children.

  4. Proper dress code needs to be followed for the duration of the event. Please dress modestly, no short shorts or low cut spaghetti straps. Proper running shoes need to be worn while participating in all events. Failure to comply with the dress code may result in a competitor being asked not to participate in the events.

  5. Parents and / or guardians must remain on the premises at all times. Parents / guardians will take full responsibility for the children they bring to the event.

  6. One parent per family is required to volunteer, unless extenuating circumstances prevent this and arrangements are made with the coordinators ahead of time.

  7. Children are strongly encouraged to participate in all the events for their age group, and will at all times stay with their group leader, unless a parent accompanies them.

  8. SALT reserves the right to use photographs and / or videos taken at the event for purposes including but not limited to: advertising, website, slideshows etc.
